Wilderness First Aid (WFA)
The ECSI Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Course is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, Scout leaders, and individuals traveling to remote areas who need essential first aid skills when professional medical care is delayed. This instructor-led course covers patient assessment, trauma care, environmental emergencies, and evacuation planning. Certification is valid for two years and meets Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and OSHA Best Practices standards.
The ECSI Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Course prepares individuals to handle medical emergencies in remote and wilderness environments where help may be hours away. This in-person training provides hands-on instruction in: - Patient assessment and triage in the field - Injury and trauma management (bleeding, fractures, burns, and wounds) - Environmental emergencies (hypothermia, heat exhaustion, altitude sickness, and bites/stings) - Improvised splinting and bandaging techniques - Evacuation strategies and transport considerations This course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs and meets the Wilderness First Aid Curriculum of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Upon successful completion, participants receive an ECSI Wilderness First Aid certification, valid for two years.
Students will also learn Adult CPR/Child CPR/Infant CPR/ AED/ and Stop the Bleed - all certifications included in this live class! Class is scheduled for 9 hours each day to allow a one hour break for lunch.
This course results in Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Certification.
